Across B.C., close to 10,000 people are now on evacuation alert and over 500 others are under an evacuation order as the province contends with numerous wildfires in several different regions. Over 200 people have been ordered to leave their properties near Gun Lake and LaJoie Lake north of Pemberton. In the Shuswap, residents of close to 100 properties remain under an evacuation order due to the Adams Lake wildfire.

Breaking: A new wildfire has started on Arbutus Mountain, across the inlet from Port Alberni. Several helicopters and planes were sent to attack the flames just before sunset on Thursday.
