Someone shot-up a pickup during the noon hour in a busy area of Burnaby on Thursday. Surprisingly, no one was hit but a car fire was reported near SFU a short time later. All this has the markings of another violent incident in the ongoing B.C. drug war. RCMP are extra worried because this happened on a busy stretch of Dawson Street in the middle of the day. No arrests have been made.
The Three Rivers University community in Kamloops is in shock after a Wednesday crash that killed a member of the school’s Men’s Volleyball Team and left two teammates fighting for their lives. The members of the Wolfpack Volleyball team were in a car that was stopped at a red light when hit by an out-of-control pickup. In a statement from the university, TRU President Brett Fairbairn says it’s hard to find words to express how we feel in these moments, in the face of such an inexplicable tragedy.
