North Vancouver RCMP have issued a public warning after becoming aware of two victims of an e-transfer following bogus promises of tickets for up to $1,800. Payers paid. Posters ghosted. RCMP warn Swifties to avoid situations that sound urgent. They also say there should be a physical exchange of cash in a public place.
Don’t bring a gun to school even if it’s a vintage rifle and you’re the teacher. That’s the hard lesson for a history teacher at Lord Byng Secondary who was ‘taken down’ by officers who responded to a reported gun call. Vancouver Police say even though the gun wasn’t loaded and likely too old to work, officers had to treat the weapons call as if it was a threat. The school was temporarily locked-down and administrators have informed parents about the incident. There’s no word if the teacher will be disciplined.
One person has died in a crash involving a dump truck and an SUV in Surrey. It happened near 80 Avenue and 122A Street early Thursday morning. There’s no early word on the circumstances that led to the crash.
