Summary
Conserve water and follow your region’s prohibitions and restrictions! That’s the request coming from the B.C. government now that the showers have passed and it’s back to drought conditions. Close to 1.5 million hectares of land has now gone up in flames and those with the BC Wildfire Service say this could be one of the worst seasons in the past six years. There are currently 21 fires of note.
The final night of the Celebration of Light on Saturday will be the only fireworks display going ahead in in Metro Vancouver. The big reason - they’re set off from a barge in the ocean. Most municipalities are following the province-wide ban. Team Philippines is competing this weekend.
Breaking: A man’s been shot dead near Milner Road and Blundell Road in Richmond. It happened just before 6:00 p.m. Thursday and a car was found burning nearby. No arrests have been made.
