Other news…
It’s another indication of troubles in the Canadian real estate market. Vancouver-based real estate developer Wesgroup Properties has announced what it calls ‘significant layoffs.’ It comes as the sector continues to struggle with a series of issues including global economic pressures, increasing development and land costs, and depressed demand for ownership housing.
A crash involving a police motorcycle and another vehicle has left a Vancouver officer injured. It happened at West Pender and Burrard Thursday evening. The injuries are not life-threatening.
Firefighters had to clear out a West End apartment building Thursday morning due to high levels of carbon monoxide. It happened after a resident of the building on Bidwell reported smelling a strong odour. The source remains unknown but the building has a gas boiler and a bunch of gas stoves. No one required hospitalization.
Clouds and showers Friday. Rain Saturday. A mix of sun and cloud for Sunday. Here are the latest conditions from our private weather station in Surrey.
