Summary
A fatal crash in West Vancouver late Wednesday evening left the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal without any access for hours. Two people died in the head-on Highway One near West Port Road. Several others were hurt. The area was not fully re-opened until close to 9:00 a.m. BC Ferries had to delay at least one of its sailings due to a crew shortage resulting from staff delays.

An increase in fare evasion enforcement is just one part of TransLink’s newly announced $90M cost-cutting plan. The transit authority will also hire fewer third party contractors. TransLink says its been hit by a decline in revenue and fares are not keeping up with inflation.
HandyDART workers have voted in favour of strike action as the members of ATU Local 1724 push for a new contract. They’re seeking better pay and working conditions. The union blames TransLink for contracting out the service to a French company.
Premier David Eby has his wife, Cailey Lynch, have a new baby. Gwendolyn Kay Eby entered the world Thursday at nine pounds, six ounces. Eby posted that both mother and child are doing well. This is the couple’s third child.
