Summary
Investigators think a deadly Thursday morning home invasion in Burnaby was likely targeted. The Mounties responded to a home invasion call in the Edmonds neighbourhood at around 7:00 a.m. They found a man dead and a woman slightly hurt. No suspects have been arrested.
Breaking: The 16-year-old girl, reported missing in Golden Ears Park north of Maple Ridge, has been found...alive. She walked out on her own Thursday evening, shortly after searchers called off their efforts for the night. She had not been seen for two days after going missing from her hike with two friends on the East Canyon Trail near Steve’s Lookout.
Thursday’s BC Ferries sailings between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay sold out by early in the afternoon and more sell-outs are expected Friday. This comes after more than half-a-dozen sailings were cancelled due to ongoing repairs on the Coastal Celebration. BC Ferries has had a difficult first half of 2023 with numerous cancellations and delays during peak periods - most related to staffing shortages.
