Summary
Gas prices have dropped by close to ten cents per litre across much of the Lower Mainland. In some areas of Langley, the price dipped below $1.60 litre on Thursday as supplies continue to rise faster than demand. Those linked to the industry suggest there doesn’t appear to be any reason to believe prices will increase significantly in the immediate future.

A man’s body has been found off UBC’s Wreck Beach. University RCMP say that person could not be revived despite lifesaving efforts. The person is believed to be in the early 30s and was wearing shorts - next of kin has been notified but a name has not been released. There’s no word on the circumstances behind the death.
Five men with links to organized crime have been sentenced to federal prison time for trafficking drugs on the Downtown Eastside. The purported members of the Wolfpack gang received sentences ranging from four to ten years for trafficking a controlled substance and conspiracy to traffic. This follows an investigation by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) that began in the summer of 2020.
Crews have managed to contain a small wildfire spotted near Agassiz Thursday morning. That fire is classed as out of control but is being kept to about a hectare, 12 km up the Mount Woodside Forest Service Road. There are more than 60 active wildfires in B.C. right now.
