Vancouver Rundown has learned one person is dead and several others are reported hurt after a crash near Nevin and Ford Roads in Chilliwack. It happened at around 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The deceased may have had a preexisting medical condition.

Dozens of people staged a protest on the Downtown Eastside on Saturday night as Mayor Ken Sim and his ABC dominated city council prepare to freeze supportive housing for that neighbourhood. The rally coincided with Canada’s Coldest Night of the Year event which supports those who are homeless. The Globe & Mail received a leaked, confidential memo to ABC politicians outlining a plan to fast-track private development for the Downtown Eastside.

An art show for cat lovers is coming to Vancouver. The Cat Lover Art Show is slated for this spring but local artists are asked to apply by a March 1 deadline. The show will happen on April 5 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Jigspace.
