Vancouver Rundown Monday February 12, 2024
Summary
There was a silver lining in those clouds. A weekend of rain may have spoiled some plans on the south coast but it provided much needed relief for area mountains. The North Shore ski hills got snow - perhaps enough to open some runs. There was also some relief for those concerned about a dismal snowpack - something that could contribute to more drought conditions this summer. While it may be be cool enough for snow on the hills this week, sunshine is expected through Friday.
Other news…

Speaking of apartment fires, a person’s been badly hurt in a Sunday morning blaze on Nanaimo Street near East 45th Ave. The flames were contained to a third floor - there’s no early word on the cause. A housing provider has reached out to help residents with smoke and water damage.

Meanwhile, two groups, including an LGBTQ+ organization, are outraged over being excluded from participating in the parade.
