One of B.C. and Canada’s best known hereditary chiefs has died. Vancouver Island’s Bill Wilson passed away on Friday according to an announcement by his daughter - former federal attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould. She described her father as living a life of leadership and always striving to make change. Wilson pushed to make sure Indigenous title to land and treaty rights were enshrined in Canada’s Constitution. Bill Wilson was 80.

A teen faces several charges as the Mounties moved in to bust up an illegal street racing gathering of about 200 people on Friday night. Langley RCMP say the 16-year-old was tasered after rushing at officers. They also say the crowd turned unruly after police arrived at a motor vehicle incident on Gloucester Way, north of Aldergrove, at around 11:00 p.m. Langley RCMP have described the gathering as deeply troubling - more patrols are expected.
A woman has been killed in a five car crash on the Pattullo Bridge. It happened Sunday morning just before 8:30. The cause is still being investigated.
The Vancouver Mural Festival is shutting down after nine years. Organizers say it’s no longer viable to continue with the annual event. Close to 400 murals have been created in connection with festival.
