Summary
Two children and their mother - subjects of a B.C.-wide Amber Alert - have been located at a rural property in Alberta. The mother (who did not have custody) and her boyfriend are now in custody on abduction related charges. The kids are safe and have been reunited with family members from Surrey.
Breaking: North Shore Rescue along with other searchers have made contact with a hiker who has been unable to return from a trail near Lions Bay. He ran into difficulties late Sunday afternoon. The man is a ham radio operator and was able to use a VHF 2m handheld radio to make contact with those in a helicopter…thanks in part to relays from other amateur radio operators. The hiker carried enough equipment to spend the night on the trail and will be escorted out later Monday.
