Summary

Surprise or no surprise? That depends on who’s talking. The NDP has picked up wins in both weekend byelections with Ravi Parmar taking Langford-Juan de Fuca and Joan Phillip winning in Vancouver-Mount Pleasant. Both ridings are NDP strongholds. But the bigger shock might be for BC United as the Conservative Party of BC beat the party formerly known as Liberals. BC United candidate Jackie Lee was a distant second in Vancouver-Mount Pleasant, taking only 13 per cent of the vote.
