Other news…
The City of Burnaby has cut all friendship ties with China. City Council has approved dropping its friendship agreements with seven ‘sister’ cities out of an escalating tariff battle with that country. The move also follows inactivity and rising costs.
Three people have been displaced after a fire gutted a residential garage in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood Sunday afternoon. No one was hurt. The cause is not immediately known.
Weekend emergency room closures continue with another Lower Mainland hospital turning away ambulances due to a lack of doctors. Fraser Health announced another temporary closure of Mission Memorial Saturday night into Sunday morning. The move once again put nurses into a position of evaluating transfers and providing emergency first aid.
A mix of sun, clouds and showers for Monday. Mainly sunny on Tuesday. Cloudy periods and possible showers for Wednesday. Here are the latest conditions from our private weather station in Surrey.
