Summary
The Toronto Argonauts beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 41-24 to win this year’s CFL Grey Cup in Vancouver. That’s the third year in a row the Blue Bombers lost the big game. Nick Arbuckle picked up MVP honours after throwing two touchdown passes. The Grey Cup game also included a surprise BC Place appearance by Prince Harry.

Many B.C. charities are growing increasingly concerned about the impact of the current strike at Canada Post. The Union Gospel Mission has told CTV News more than half of its revenue comes in the period from Thanksgiving to Christmas and a mail strike during this time is detrimental. Blanket BC Society says a strike at this time of year will affect the families, refugees and homeless people it serves. A special mediator has been appointed to try to bring the two sides closer together in an effort to reach a deal.
A Vancouver drugstore’s been smoke bombed by thieves who ripped off perfume. Vancouver Police say three thieves entered a Shopper Drug Mart at 16th and Cambie Friday evening. CityNews says a worker was assaulted while the thugs made-off with $4,500 worth of perfume. Police are still trying to figure out their identities.
Standby for a chance of snow by midweek. A trace of snow is possible by Tuesday according to some forecasters but not Environment Canada. That would make it the first notable snowfall of the season for the Lower Mainland.
