Summary
While David Eby appears poised to keep his job as premier, it may be a couple weeks before we officially know if B.C.’s NDP will hold on to power and whether the province will be governed by a majority or minority government. Eby’s New Democrats hold or are leading with 46 seats while the B.C. Conservatives have 45 seats and the Greens - two rookies were elected. Green leader Sonia Furstenau did not get re-elected on Saturday. Some mail-in ballots remains to be counted and there will be at least two recounts over the next several days.

Breaking News: A local state of emergency has been declared and some property owners have been ordered to evacuate in the District of North Vancouver due to flooding. The Sunday night order covers some homes on Panorama Drive in the Cove Creek area. Hills there are unstable due to the weekend rainstorm.
Meanwhile, a search will continue Monday for a missing homeowner in Coquitlam. A mudslide washed away a home in the Quarry Road area on Saturday. Searchers are not sure if more people may be missing.
Three hikers were rescued from floodwaters near Coquitlam on Saturday. It happened at a creek on Burke Mountain. Flooding made a a hiking trail impossible to pass prompting a rescue effort by Coquitlam Search and Rescue.
The heavy rains are over for now. Monday will be mainly cloudy with a chance of showers. More showers on Tuesday. A mix of sun and cloud for Wednesday. Here are the latest conditions from our private weather station in Surrey.
