He says the escalating toxic drug crisis justifies such a move. BC Conservative leader John Rustad says he’s not surprised by the announcement as Eby continues to flip-flop on policy.

A Saturday night knifing in Vancouver’s Granville Entertainment District has left a man with severe facial injuries. Police think the 30-year-old man was involved in some sort of fight on Granville Street before being found badly hurt. A suspect has not been identified.
A washed-out bridge has left some daytrippers in the Squamish backcountry stranded. The bridge disappeared at the 30km mark of the Squamish Valley Road - where there are no alternatives to drive back to town. Some of those stranded managed to walk to the other side before being picked up by drivers.
A 6.4 earthquake hit below the ocean floor, off the southern tip of Haida Gwaii on Sunday. It was felt in Sandspit, Masset, Port Hardy, Gold River and even as far east as Kitimat and Terrace. There were no reports of any notable damage.
