Other news…
One person has died in a crash on Highway One near 264th in Langley. It happened late Friday night and involved a tow truck. The crash closed a section of the highway near Aldergrove for several hours.
There will be a coroner’s inquest into the death of Tori Dunn. The 30-year-old was killed at a home in Surrey’s Port Kells neighbourhood on June 16th prompting a huge public outcry over B.C.’s criminal justice system. Adam Mann is charged with second degree murder and remains before the courts on many other unrelated charges.
BC Ferries now says it could take at least six months to repair the broken propeller on the Queen of New Westminster. That ferry was taken out of service just before the start of the weekend causing problems on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay run. The union representing B.C.’s ferry workers says commercial pressures to prematurely put the ships back in service are responsible for many of the breakdowns.
The week starts with a big change in the weather - clouds and possible showers for Monday. Tuesday will have a mix of sun and clouds. Cloudy on Wednesday. Here are the latest conditions from our private weather station in Surrey.
