Summary
A man has died in White Rock’s second stabbing along the promenade this week. First responders could not revive the victim who was stabbed near Marine Drive and Cypress Street at around 9:15 Tuesday evening. A suspect ran away. On Sunday, a man was stabbed near the same area in what also appeared to be a random attack.

A member of a well-known B.C. organized crime group has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for drug trafficking. In November, Amandeep Sing Kang, 31, pleaded guilty to trafficking a controlled substance for a criminal organization and conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance. Kang and five others were arrested in 2021 following a three year investigation into the Brothers Keepers gang.
The City of Surrey claims the B.C. government knows the transition from the RCMP to the Surrey Police Service will cost $750 million over ten years. Mayor Brenda Locke says the province has been hiding Titanic level costs from Surrey taxpayers. The comments come after Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth set Nov 29 as the date the Surrey Police Service takes over as the ‘police of jurisdiction.’
