Summary
Another truck has hit a Lower Mainland overpass, snarling traffic during the afternoon rush. A truck, with an load that was not properly secured, hit the Gilmore Diversion over Highway One in Burnaby. It happened Wednesday afternoon causing minor eastbound delays. Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement officers are still investigating.

Two ice fishermen have died after falling below the surface of a lake near Agassiz. A family member spotted a hole in the ice after the men failed to return late Tuesday night. RCMP divers recovered the bodies. Police warn this serves as a stark reminder ice conditions are constantly changing, even in areas where thickness has been tested.
One of two people people rescued from a grounded sailboat off Saturna Island has died. The U.S. Coast Guard pulled a Canadian man and woman from the boat during snowy and windy conditions on Monday. However, the woman was pronounced dead after being airlifted to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bellingham. It was a VHF marine radio call that prompted the Americans to respond even though the boat was in Canadian waters.
A YouTube influencer has been busted driving a high powered sports car at 150 km/h in a 90 zone near Lantzville on Vancouver Island. The driver of the Nissan GT-R identified himself as a YouTube influencer and told an officer his radar detector didn’t go off. The driver’s been handed a $368 ticket for excessive speed - the car is impounded for seven days. There’s no word if any of this was streamed on social media.
