Summary

The Eby government has stated it accepts the intent of the recommendations but there is no word on any path toward implementation. Eleven people died when the driver of an SUV plowed into pedestrians at the event on April 26.

A person in a wheelchair has been rushed to hospital after being struck by an SUV in North Vancouver. It happened in the London Drugs parking lot on Lonsdale Avenue, early Wednesday afternoon. Both the driver and the victim suffered serious injuries. There’s no word on why or how it happened.
Money problems are forcing the Vancouver Art Gallery to cut staff and programming by close to 30 per cent. Eighteen people have been laid off in addition to those who accepted voluntary departure incentives. The VAG has come under increased pressures after falling short of its initial budget for a new venue.
Mission drivers got treated to a blueberry traffic jam. Dozens of boxes of freshly picked blueberries fell of a truck and hit the pavement at Lougheed Highway and Wren Street. It happened at the end of June but RCMP are only now commenting on the sticky mess.
