Summary
Premier David Eby says the damage from the B.C. port strike is profound and every province in the country is impacted by the job action. Eby also says the workers need to be treated fairly and the strike can not drag on. The two sides are mulling over a mediator’s recommendations and must give a response by Thursday.
Happening now: A new but very small wildfire is burning out-of-control on Mount Seymour. It broke out late Wednesday afternoon but was less than a hectare in size by dusk. Helicopters have been dropping buckets of water on the fire.
