Summary
It was a huge blast in a very public area in Langley. A welding truck exploded at a construction site next to the Willoughby Town Centre just before 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Windows in the area were blown out and debris ended up scattered over a large area. Luckily, no one was hurt. Investigators call the explosion ‘not suspicious.’

Glacier Helicopters out of Invermere is being credited with helping to save three hikers from a growing forest fire near Mount Bruce in southeastern B.C. Sage Randle and her two friends got a cell signal and called for help after spotting smoke near a peak where they were resting. A chopper from the private tour company, contracted to help in the B.C. wildfire effort, was able to reach the three while looking for spot fires. There was no sign of any nearby fire when the hikers set out.
