The B.C. government has finalized rules including a minimum wage of $20.88 per hour for time engaged in a pickup and delivery, 35 to 45 cents per kilometre travelled, and 100 per cent of tips collected. B.C.’s new rules do not apply to other gig workers such as dog walkers, musicians and freelance writers.

The woman who was hit in her car when a volleyball-sized rock went through the windshield last week has now died of her injuries. The incident happened on Highway One in Burnaby, just east of the Willingdon Exit. It’s believed the rock came from a passing vehicle.
Exclusive: Vancouver Rundown’s learned a home has been heavily damaged by fire in a rural area north of Mission. The blaze broke out at around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening on Cardinal Street, prompting firefighters to go into a defensive attack…protecting nearby structures and a vehicle. There were no initial reports of anyone hurt. Crews from Maple Ridge assisted those in Mission. There’s no early word on the cause.
