Summary
The Bank of Canada has cut its key lending rate by a quarter of a percentage point to 2.75%. The move comes as the Canada-U.S. trade war continues to redefine its tariffs and counter tariffs. BoC Governor Tiff Macklem says the impact of the tariffs could be severe depending on the extent and duration of the trade war. He also says ‘uncertainty’ is already causing harm.

Plans are underway for a huge anti-Donald Trump rally in Vancouver later this month. Organizers say the Monday, March 24 protest will be one of several in cities across Canada - all in front of U.S. Consulates. They say the goal is to send a united message that Canadians are committed to equality, democracy and human rights.
At least ten people have been hurt in a crash on the Sea-to-Sky Highway just south of Whistler. It happened at around 10:00 Wednesday morning, closing Highway 99 in both directions for hours. Two of the injuries are critical - an air ambulance was called to transport at least one of the patients.
Two men have been arrested in a Tuesday night shooting in South Surrey. A man is recovering after being shot near 152 Street and 33 Avenue. The suspects tried to drive away in a car but ended up crashing the vehicle. A police dog helped in making the arrests.
