Other news…
Well-known Vancouver drug advocate/rule bending businessman Dana Larsen’s magic mushroom dispensaries have been raided by the cops. Larsen says his three downtown storefronts were busted by Vancouver Police. Officers say they seized controlled substances that were being sold in bulk quantities to those who walked-in off the street.
Meanwhile, the B.C. Coroner’s expert panel is calling for the government to expand the safer supply of drugs as a way to control the growing number of deaths. The death review panel claims prescription-free, quality controlled drugs is the most viable, short-term option during this overdose crisis. The NDP’s Addictions Minister has already rejected the idea of prescription-free narcotics saying that’s not under consideration.
Glückwünsche zu John Horgan! The former premier has been tapped by Justin Trudeau to serve as Canada’s new Ambassador to Germany. Horgan says he has no concrete plans for what’s to come next. Trudeau calls Horgan a passionate and experienced leader.
EDITOR’S CORRECTION: A previous version of incorrectly stated that John Horgan was a board member of a Teck Resources spinoff. Since the spinoff did not proceed, Horgan was not in fact a board member.
Heavy rain and wind as promised. The stormy weather is here and will continue through the weekend. Here are the latest conditions from our private weather station in Surrey.
