Police in Abbotsford and Langley are looking into online threats targeting several schools. The messages started circulating Sunday night, mentioning both high schools and the University of the Fraser Valley. Those with the Abbotsford School District shared a message with parents and staff saying police advised there was no credible threat - no classes were cancelled.
An instructor and student pilot are the two people killed in the crash of a small plane near Chilliwack Lake on Saturday afternoon. The Cessna 172, operated by Abbotsford-based Chinook Helicopters, hit the ground at 2:13 after disappearing from flight trackers. Rescuers were also alerted by an Apple-based crash notification.
A B.C. billionaire says she’s interested in buying Hudson Bay stores. Weihong Liu has posted her intent on the Chinese language social media platform RedNote saying she wants to ‘make The Bay great again.’ Liu is the head of Central Walk which owns Tsawwassen Mills and two other malls on Vancouver Island.
