Summary
There’s more proof that the ongoing war between the NDP government and the Brenda Locke-led City of Surrey is weird and horrible…and getting worse. The Vancouver Sun reports there are growing concerns the Surrey School District is caught in the middle of this fight. The City has now rejected crucial provincial funding for school upgrades and Board Chair Laurie Larsen says the District is caught in the middle of a fight over the transition of policing from the RCMP to the Surrey Police Service. Surrey City Council has told the Board it has concerns over the provincial government’s legislation (bills 44, 46 and 47) dealing with the housing crisis. Surrey is the fastest growing school district in the province.
