Summary
Even flights at YVR have been impacted by the crash at Toronto’s Pearson International. Several Family Day flights between Vancouver and Toronto were delayed or cancelled after a a regional flight under the Delta Airlines banner crashed at Pearson on Monday, shedding both its wings and flipping upside down. At least 15 people were injured, three critically, as the plane slid on the tarmac. There were gusty winds and blowing snow but the official cause has not yet been determined.

Several people have fallen through the ice near the swimming lagoon at Harrison Lake. It happened Monday but there are no details about conditions, numbers or ages. The incident comes only two weeks after two brothers from Abbotsford died after falling through ice while fishing at a lake near Agassiz.
Concerns over slope stability have forced the closure of a section of the Stanley Park Seawall. The closure stretches from Prospect Point to the Seawall West Gate. It will remain closed until the Vancouver Park Board deems it safe.
Works at BC LifeLabs are now staging rotating strikes at medical labs around the province. Some workers gathered at a rally in Burnaby on Sunday to protest what they describe as months of unsuccessful contract talks aimed at improving wages, working conditions and staffing shortages. They want comparable wages to those for similar workers in hospitals.
