Summary
Schedules should be getting back to normal after a deal was reached at WestJet, ending strike action that cancelled hundreds of flights. It appears both the airlines and its unionized members of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association have now agreed to continue arbitration. WestJet says it grounded 130 planes at 13 airports after the union members walked off the job over the weekend. Dozens of people were left stranded at airports including YVR.

A small brawl broke out and even rapper Rick Ross received a few blows at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver on Sunday. Several videos have been posted to social media showing punches being thrown during Ross’s performance. The rapper is taking it in stride - posting “ Vancouver, it was fun. Till next time.”
Should Vancouver Police clear out sunset watchers at English Bay? That’s what many people are asking after officers have been arriving to enforce liquor laws. Even one park board commissioner is questioning whether police are using discretion. English Bay and other Vancouver beaches are officially closed at 10:00 p.m. unless otherwise posted.
A man is recovering from a through-and-through gunshot wound after a confrontation involving two groups of people south of Hope. A woman was arrested in Laidlaw after the shooting that prompted a large response from Hope and Chilliwack RCMP and Lower Mainland ERT members on Sunday afternoon. Police say there is no remaining threat to the public.
