Summary
That damn Donnie Creek wildfire in northeastern B.C. continues to grow and threaten even more properties. While cooler weather is helping crews control other notable fires around the province, high winds are the enemy with Donnie Creek which is now close to a massive 4,700 square-kilometres. There are both evacuation orders and evacuation alerts. The fire started back in the middle of May and was likely caused by lightning.

Conservation officers are warning people on the Sunshine Coast to be extra careful after a woman was attacked by a cougar while mountain biking near Roberts Creek. The woman was only slightly hurt after the big cat lunged at her. Two trails have been closed in the area where it happened. The cougar has not yet been tracked down.
