Breaking news: A home in Surrey’s Cloverdale neighbourhood has been badly damaged by a Monday evening fire. Two neighbouring homes may have smoke and water damage. Neighbours say an EV in the driveway is destroyed but there is no word on the cause of the fire.

Housing, transit and public safety are some of the top priorities to be discussed as Mayor Ken Sim heads to Ottawa this week. The Vancouver mayor and two members of council will be pushing for federal leadership and money to help deal with the problems. One of the big pushes will include advocating for more housing solutions now that the federal minister in charge, Gregor Robertson, is a Vancouver MP. The meetings will take place through Friday.
There’s a new warning about cyberbullying and sexting among B.C. teens - this one comes from White Rock RCMP. Those with the RCMP say they’ve noticed an increase in the harmful use of social media and are encouraging parents to be on the lookout. Teens are again being warned not to speak online with anyone they don’t know and never share explicit videos or photos.
An officer is okay but the front end of their police pickup truck has been destroyed in a high impact crash on Fraser Highway near 260th. The pickup was in a two vehicle crash just before 2:30 Sunday morning - the other driver did not suffer serious injuries. Police say alcohol was not involved - the road was closed-off for several hours.
Keep drones away from provincial and national parks and any rescue operations. That’s the warning from Squamish Search and Rescue after a close call on the weekend. A drone flew dangerously close to a helicopter involved in a long line rescue near the First Peak in Stawamus Chief Provincial Park on Saturday. Similar warnings have also been issued in the past with drones flying close to wildfire crews in B.C. Drones are not allowed to be flown in any type of parks.
