Vancouver Rundown Tuesday March 25, 2025
Summary
The federal leaders will take part in broadcast debates on April 16 and April 17 but there will not be a third debate in the election campaign after the Liberal’s Mark Carney said no to Quebec’s TVA. The debates will be hosted by Radio-Canada (CBC) in Montreal. Meanwhile, former Premier Christy Clark now says she will not be running for the Liberals in this federal election. Sources say Clark had been trying to seek the party nod in at least two Surrey ridings.

A man has been arrested and released after a large fire at a strip mall in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood. Several businesses have been damaged or destroyed after fire broke out on the corner of 108 Avenue and City Park Way at around 2:30 Monday morning. No one was hurt.
A five-year-old girl has recovered after overdosing on fentanyl in Mission last week. Paramedics and Mission Fire Rescue were called to a home after the girl handled a jar containing the narcotic. RCMP say it serves as a reminder to keep narcotics out of reach of children.
Rain Tuesday morning, clearing by the afternoon. Clouds and possible showers for Wednesday and Thursday. Here are the latest conditions from our private weather station in Surrey.
