Vancouver Rundown Tuesday March 26, 2024
Summary
Fortunately, it was just early enough to avoid the lunch crowd! The driver of a KIA smashed through the front glass of a Quiznos on 48 Avenue in Langley. It happened at around 11:00 a.m. Monday. One person was transported to hospital.
Other news…
The actions of Surrey RCMP are now being investigated after a man died at a home in what is described as a domestic dispute in the Morgan Creek area of Surrey. It happened on Sunday afternoon. Police say they found a man dead inside from what appeared to be self-inflicted injuries…because police were called, it’s standard practice for the IIO to investigate the actions of officers.
It’s quite the sight - a big piece of the Granville Street Bridge is now gone. Scheduled demolition and repair work has left a large section of the bridge missing at the north end. The bridge is expected to remain closed for several more weeks.
Good news for fans of the northern lights. Bad news for communications. A geomagnetic storm could result in a view of the dancing green sky if you manage to find a clear spot amongst the clouds. Better views can be found further north over the next couple nights.
A few sunny breaks are in the forecast for Tuesday but expect mostly clouds and showers for Wednesday and Thursday. The good news - sunshine is now in the forecast for the long weekend. Here are the latest conditions from our private weather station in Surrey.
