Now Bowen Island residents are pissed with problems at BC Ferries. A staffing shortage forced the cancellation of a dozen sailings between Bowen and Horseshoe Bay on Saturday, leaving residents and tourists trying to figure out alternatives. Bowen Island Mayor Andrew Leonard says it’s hard to believe staffing challenges could not be anticipated. To make matters worse, BC Ferries also had a major crash of its website, app and phone service on Monday…just in time for the end the long weekend.
