Summary
The Vancouver School Board is considering tighter restrictions on cellphones in schools. Board Chair Victoria Jung has been pushing to get the superintendent to bring in new rules which would also include requiring students up to Grade 6 to keep their phones on silent and out-of-sight during school hours. The provincial government is asking all school districts to bring in some form of rules covering students and phones.
Breaking: One person has died in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 10 and 184 Street in Surrey. It happened at 4:30 Monday afternoon - paramedics were not able to revive the victim after they were extracted from a car. Vancouver Rundown has chosen to not show the car or its license plate in its photo as next-of-kin have not been notified.

Vancouver-based branded podcasting firm Pacific Content has been closed down by parent company Rogers Sports and Entertainment. Rogers took over the boutique business-to-business company in 2019 during the telecom’s attempt to become a key innovator in the digital space. All Pacific Content employees are impacted by the closure.
A man from North Vancouver is charged with attempted murder after a knife attack in Deep Cove. RCMP received several reports of an armed man confronting drivers in their cars near Mount Seymour Parkway and Deep Cove Road on Saturday afternoon. A motorcycle rider escaped injury after being struck in the helmet. Alexander Currie is also charged with uttering threats, possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon and assaulting a police officer.
West Vancouver has unveiled plans to turn close eight square kilometres of forested mountainside into a park twice the size of Stanley Park. The park still has to be named. The area is already being used for recreational purposes and by many hiking groups. Part of the funding for a newly launched endowment comes from Chip and Summer Wilson.
