It’s back in time for this Christmas! Some corporate donors have banded together to revive Stanley Park’s miniature train in time for this year’s Bright Lights Christmas fundraiser. It’s the first time the train has been in operation since 2019 after having experienced a bunch of problems including maintenance issues. Tickets are now available and the train will run for the entire month of December.

Police in Surrey are investigating an ugly rumble that broke out at the Newton Athletic Park on Saturday evening. It’s believed two groups clashed after a dispute about a call during a Metro Vancouver League Soccer League game. The Surrey Now-Leader reports no arrests have been made and the investigation is still in its initial stages.
The B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives has taken the unusual step of issuing a public notice following 13 reports of incidents involving unlicensed midwives over the past 18 months. The College says some of those cases had tragic consequences including deaths. It says it recognizes pregnant people choose unauthorized midwives for a variety of reasons but notes there are many dangers associated with the choice.
An old decommissioned BC Ferry sank near Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast over the weekend. A dingy on the 62-year-old R.J. Breadner activated her SOS beacon prompting the Coast Guard to investigate. By the time vessels arrived, the ferry had gone to the bottom. It’s believed no one was on board. There’s no word on environmental impacts.
