Summary
The BC NDP have managed to scrape out a slim, majority government after several recounts. Barring any unexpected change due to a judicial recount, David Eby’s New Democrats return to power with 47 seats. That means they won’t need the support of B.C.’s two newly elected Green MLAs to pass legislation. The BC Conservatives won 44 seats.

Outspoken anti-abortionist Tamara Jansen as retained the nomination for the federal Conservatives in Cloverdale-Langley City. Jansen lost the seat in the last election to Liberal John Aldag - who had lost to Jansen in the previous election. Aldag suffered a huge loss after stepping aside as the MP to run for the NDP in the Oct. 19 provincial election.
One person has been found dead in a Monday morning house fire on Vancouver Island. RCMP say remains were found in a home north of Duncan. The cause of the fire remains unclear.
Close to 700 people packed the Hyatt Regency in downtown Vancouver to celebrate the best in B.C. journalism. This year’s Webster Awards recognized contributions from both the large media organizations and small, independent ones across a wide swath of traditional and new media.
