A lone pilot is okay after a small plane crashed near Surrey’s Crescent Beach. It happened at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Several ambulances and an air ambulance were quickly stood down despite a small fire at the crash scene. The pilot suffered only minor burns.

The Mounties in Langley are talking with witnesses after a car smashed into the Aldergrove community police station Sunday evening. A woman was given first aid at the scene and rushed to hospital. The driver ran away but was arrested nearby. Booze is believed to be a factor.
A Surrey Mountie has pleaded guilty to three of 15 charges in an investigation involving access to computers and intimate relationships. Cpl. Peter Leckie will be back in court in early December for sentencing on three abuse of trust pleas. The charges involved three women and occurred between 2014 and 2021.
BC Hydro has submitted its request for a 2.3 per cent rate hike next year. Those with the utility say Hydro still has some of the lowest power rates in North America. This is the sixth straight year the utility has applied for a below-the-inflation-rate increase. The average home would pay an extra $2 a month for power.
