Summary
At least three newsrooms in Vancouver (Global News, CTV, CityTV) believe they have a scoop with sources telling them, exclusively, the future of the Vancouver Park Board is in question. According to those whispering the rumor, Mayor Ken Sim will be sharing details at a Wednesday news conference including plans to change the Vancouver Charter which could lead to its demise. The Board has come under increasing scrutiny, including a recent audit, questioning its ability to handle spending.

An investigation is underway as to the source of a very large fuel spill in False Creek. The Coast Guard is trying to determine the scope after many people reported seeing a rainbow coloured fuel slick and smelling diesel. Several levels of local and senior governments are looking into this…it’s not yet known if this could be related to Monday’s heavy rain.
Breaking: At least one person has been killed in an apparent Tuesday evening crash near the Greater Vancouver Zoo at 264th and 48th in Langley. Vancouver Rundown has learned an air ambulance was ‘stood down’ shortly after 8:00 p.m. Several ground ambulances had already responded…there are no details from RCMP at this point. Langley Township firefighters were initially called out to an ‘extraction’ incident involving a vehicle in the ditch.
A regulator called it a harmful echo of abuse in residential schools. A B.C. teacher has been suspended for five days after a physical altercation involving a student…that student ended up being pinned to the ground. The incident came after several students refused a request to line up before entering the school. The teacher has since apologized for their actions. Details including names and locations have not been revealed.
