Summary
Two pedestrians have been rushed to hospital with very serious injuries after being hit by a truck on Lougheed Highway in Burnaby. A section of the road was closed for several hours near North Road late Tuesday night. Speed and alcohol have not been ruled out as contributing factors.

One person has been found dead after a house near Agassiz. Crews spent several hours putting out and then investigating the fire at a home on Seabird Island late Sunday afternoon. The cause is not known but it’s not believed to be suspicious.
One month - that’s how long Vancouver Park Board staff have been given to determine how to keep the Vancouver Aquatic Centre’s 50-metre pool. That comes after staff recommended a design for a new pool half the size at a cost of over $100M. Close to 70 people attended two nights of hearings on how to proceed with Centre’s new pool.
