Summary
Police are now looking for those responsible for the kidnapping of a 19-year-old who died after being found in the Crescent Beach area of Surrey. Investigators say the man died five days after being attacked and shoved in a vehicle in Abbotsford in the early morning hours of Jan. 27. Police say the victim was targeted and there is no risk to the public.

The husband of Trina Hunt has been charged with a single count of indignity to human remains, more than four years after the Port Moody woman went missing and was found dead near Hope. Iain Hunt, 52, has been released from custody on a promise to appear for his next court date. Family members of Trina are outraged the Crown failed to put together more charges in the case.
Homes in Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Agassiz have been raided by police in fentanyl and cocaine trafficking busts. Police seized small amounts of the drugs along with $51,000 in cash and three vehicles. All four of those arrested have been released as police continue to investigate.
Significant growth in Surrey and Langley has helped Metro Vancouver’s population move past the 3 million mark. Projections from StatsCan suggest Surrey will be the largest city in the province within two years - surpassing Vancouver’s population. While Metro Vancouver’s growth rate is about 17 per cent, Kelowna is next with just over 13 per cent.
