Summary
Close to 300 wildfires are burning across the province - a reality that has Premier David Eby saying he expects the worst fire season in 100 years. So far, the province has spent about $200-million on the wildfire effort with much of B.C. experiencing a Level 4 drought. One huge fire is responsible for most of the area burned. The Donnie Creek Fire has claimed close to 6,000 hectares in an area between Fort St. John and Fort Nelson.
