Summary
The family of a young woman killed in a homicide at her home on Sunday says the attack was random. Tori Dunn, the owner of Dunn Right Landscaping services, was killed during an apparent home invasion on 182A Street in Surrey. Global News is reporting a suspect who was arrested near the scene was recently released from custody and had a lengthy criminal history of violent crimes. None of those details have been released by the RCMP or Crown.

Two people are recovering from smoke inhalation and several others are displaced from three addresses after an apartment fire in Port Coquitlam late Tuesday morning. The fire closed Wilson Avenue near Shaughnessy Street for several hours. There’s no word on the cause.
The B.C. government is killing its rebates for most buyers of electric vehicles. The cap is now set at models that cost under $50,000. That’s down $5,000 at a time when vehicle prices continue to go up. Those in the auto industry say close to 75 per cent of EVs and hybrids won’t be able to qualify for a $4,000 rebate.
BC Ferries is about to become more ‘pet friendly’ - at least on four vessels that operate on the Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay run. Outdoor pet areas are being added to the upper decks of two spirit class ships while the Coastal Celebration and Queen of New Westminster will get their pet areas later this summer. The expansion follows an experiment with pet friendly areas on four other vessels over the past year.
