A woman has been struck and killed by a train east of Mission. It’s believed she was walking on tracks in the Deroche area when hit late Tuesday afternoon. An air ambulance was stood down by paramedics at the scene.
A 93-year-old woman is dead after a two car crash in Surrey’s Fleetwood neighbourhood. It happened on 92 Avenue near 158 Street at around 10:30 Tuesday morning. The woman was the only person in her car - the driver of the other vehicle was not seriously hurt.
Paid parking is about to become permanent along Vancouver’s Spanish Banks. The Park Board has approved a plan to charge $1.50 an hour despite a recent petition that followed a pilot project. Some commissioners pointed out free parking still exists in a couple of Vancouver spots such as the Sunset Community Centre and the Trout Lake Community Centre.
