Summary
Rain is helping with some of the most problematic wildfires in B.C. The evacuation order continues for Tumbler Ridge where that massive fire is expected to be an issue for several weeks - however, crews have managed to make progress in fighting it over the past day or so. Meanwhile, the Cameron Bluffs fire on Vancouver Island remains small but the Highways Minister says HWY4 between Port Alberni and the eastern side of the Island will remain closed for the next week or so. A detour remains in place.
Developing: Remember that time when few had high hopes for a new Las Vegas franchise being any serious threat upon entering the NHL? Well - that didn’t last long. The Golden Knights beat the Panthers 9-3 to win the Stanley Cup…a first for the young team.
