Summary
Investigators are now looking into the role of police officers in a dangerous crash that closed Highway 13 in Aldergrove for several hours Monday morning. Police say a driver failed to stop for officers before hitting a truck at 264th (Highway 13) and 16th Avenue. The driver’s injuries were minor but a passenger was rushed to hospital in critical condition. There’s no word on why police wanted to pull over the car.

No arrests have been made and police warn people to be extra careful after a woman was sexually assaulted on a trail in Stanley Park. It happened near Lost Lagoon on Monday. The woman managed to call police at around 10:45 a.m.
A former North Vancouver elementary school teacher has received a lifetime ban after serving a 10-month conditional sentence for possessing child pornography. Graham Bowering was fired from his job at Ross Road Elementary after the charges came to light in 2021. Bowering has admitted that his actions constitute professional misconduct.
One of B.C.’s iconic broadcast journalists has passed away. Long time CKNW reporter George Garrett ,who broke many high profile stories in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, has died following a recent battle with cancer. In recent years, Garrett reached out to many Vancouver area broadcasters to share stories about the radio news business. Some of those stories were published in his book Intrepid Reporter. George Garrett was 89.
