The provincial government now admits its current cost estimates are twice initial projections. About a fifth of that cost will be offset by federal government money. Anti-Israeli protesters have now brought in toilets, a library and a first aid station as they make their tent city on a UBC playing field more long-lasting. The protesters vow to stay until the university gives in to their demands including severing ties with three Israeli universities. They say their demonstration will not expand into buildings - a move which has escalated tensions at Columbia University.
The Mounties in Langley are trying to figure out the backstory after a man was found with gunshot wounds near 68 Avenue and 204A Street early Tuesday morning. The victim, who was found on the side of a road, is expected to survive. Investigators think he may have been shot at a different location.
