Summary
The embattled CEO of Atira Women’s Resource Society, Janice Abbott, won’t step down even though an investigation has found her non-profit received preferential treatment for housing contracts because of her marriage to former BC Housing CEO Shayne Ramsay. BC Housing is demanding the society return $1.9-million…its surplus. Premier David Eby told reporters that he fired BC Housing’s Board of Directors last summer because they failed to put Ramsay on administrative leave during the investigation.
