Breaking news…several people have been treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at a residential apartment tower on Mary Street in Chilliwack early Tuesday evening. The fire started in a unit on an upper floor just before 7:00 p.m. Several other units have suffered heavy smoke damage. This is the second fire in the same building in the past several days.

A 16-year-old hiker has died in a fall near Lions Bay. The teen was one of two hikers reported missing Sunday afternoon, prompting action from North Shore, Lions Bay and Squamish search and rescue teams. The hiker fell down a snow-filled gully on Hat Mountain prompting the other teen to call 9-1-1.
Vancouver Police are still looking for a suspect in Monday night’s deadly stabbing on the Downtown Eastside. The 48-year-old victim was found on a sidewalk near Hastings and Carrall at around 8:45. The motive is unknown but police don’t think the stabbing is linked to any other violent incidents.
Construction is now underway on the new East Vancouver campus of BC Children’s Hospital. The $310M project is being built at East 21st Avenue and Slocan Street. The new centre will include a training facility, and care for 74 kids.
